Curriculum and Programs

The Lebanon Borough curriculum adheres to state standards in all subjects, including the core areas of language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. We also offer instruction in art, music, and physical education. For more information about state standards and assessments, please follow the links on this page.

Technology

Technology is a vital part of learning today. It is a powerful learning tool that students can carry with them into high school and beyond. We are proud to provide the latest technology in all our classrooms, which we introduce at age-appropriate intervals. Each teacher receives training specific to the resources we provide so they can maximize the use of devices in their classrooms.

Our 1-to-1 initiative gives all of our students access to their own iPad. This iPad is equipped with apps students can access at home or at school to enhance learning and provide extra skills practice. Each of our classrooms is also equipped with a computer station for word processing, keyboarding, and research.

Art

Our art classes are led by credentialed instructors who know that art is more than the development of creative skills. It is problem solving and critical thinking, appreciating differences and multiple perspectives, history and culture. Art is an important part of our lives.

Music

Studies show music education increases children’s cognitive development and helps them make connections to abstract math concepts. The music program at Lebanon Borough teaches basic skills in voice, instrumentation, and performing.

Physical Education

Physical education provides students with the opportunity to maximize their academic, physical, social, and emotional development by enhancing problem solving skills, communication and cooperation, and responsible decision making. All our students participate in physical education classes twice a week for 40 minutes.

Gifted and Talented

The academically talented (AT) program offers three types of services for students. All students receive enrichment each week through a specials class and differentiation, and identified students may also receive pull-out instruction and/or connections with local/regional organizations for additional opportunities. For more information, please visit our Gifted and Talented page.
